In August 2021, Microsoft launched Windows 365 as an official product. This is the world’s first cloud PC for every organization securely streaming the Windows experience to any device. The wonder about this product is that you can easily deploy it without the need for Microsoft Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Suite expertise; as well as being able to scale to fit your organization’s needs.
Alongside the launch of this product, the Windows 365 monthly subscription terms were made available in the current CSP experience. Later that year, in October 2021, they made it available also in the CSP New Commerce Experience (NCE).
Furthermore, in April of 2022, Microsoft announced the availability of Windows 365 subscriptions under annual subscription terms; (plus the already available monthly terms).
The annual commitment for this product is priced at a 10% discounted price, compared to the monthly subscription. The same cancellation policy for all the other seat-based offers under the NCE applies to Windows 365.
While midterm conversions from monthly to annual term or vice versa are not allowed, you can change term duration at the beginning of a new term.
In most cases it is recommended to use the annual commitment to lock in prices and save that 10%, however, this depends on your business needs. Monthly licenses are recommended in cases where the organization requires flexibility or when future performance requirements are unknown.
