Microsoft has been making numerous updates and changes to pricing and licensing in general. One of these substantial changes is the release of Office (Long-Term Servicing Channel) LTSC 2021
What is Office LTSC 2021?
‘’Office LTSC 2021 is the latest version of Microsoft’s productivity software that’s available to organizations through a volume licensing agreement’’ –Microsoft, 2021
This product is separate from the software that is available through Microsoft 365 plans. This means that if your organization has deployed one of these plans, you do not need to deploy this version.
Enterprise admins can download and deploy this new product to users in their organization. Devices with Windows 10 or Windows 11 support this latest version of Microsoft software.

Privacy-related policy settings
These policy settings are available when using Group Policy:
- Configure the level of client software diagnostic data sent by Office to Microsoft
- Allow the use of connected experiences in Office that analyze and download online content
- Allow the use of connected experiences in Office

Support duration
This product has 5 years of Mainstream Support and there won’t be any Extended Support available for these products after.

Microsoft Teams
This latest version includes the Teams client app.
Users with an Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) account linked to an existing Teams, MS 365, or Office 365 service plan will be able to use that account to sign in to their existing licensed version of Teams.

Office LTSC 2021 adds support for the following languages:
- English (United Kingdom), en-gb
- French (Canada), fr-ca
- Spanish (Mexico), es-mx

OpenDocument format 1.3
The Word, Excel, and PowerPoint versions for this product include support for OpenDocument format (ODF) 1.3.
