Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the world has seen an increase in cyberattacks across businesses of all types and sizes. The sophistication of these attacks is growing consistently, and it is aiming specifically at small and medium size businesses.
According to the US Department of Homeland Security, there has been a 300% increase in ransomware attacks in the last year. With over 50% targeted at small and medium-sized businesses.
Cybercriminals are aiming at this type of business, since they are not as specialized as big enterprises, and do not have the resources needed to internally prevent, manage, and/or respond to these attacks. Which is why Microsoft is bringing a new enterprise-level Microsoft Defender technology, especially designed for SMBs: Microsoft Defender for Business.
What is Microsoft Defender for Business?
It is a new endpoint security solution that helps bring enterprise-level endpoint security for businesses with up to 300 employees.
