Microsoft’s efforts to simplify licensing and improve customer experience continue. As a result, on September 1, Microsoft announced an update to Azure Product Terms: Its consolidation, under a single “Microsoft Azure” page, effective from October 1, 2021.
The main purpose of this consolidation is to provide simplicity, and more clarity surrounding these terms.
Here are the changes that you will see:
- Definitions moving to the main Glossary page. Hover text in the Product Terms will pop-up the definition on the Azure page
- Product Availability & Conditions tables will be combined
- Product Categories table addition. This table will still maintain which Azure licenses fall under the Microsoft Azure User Plans, Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Plans, Microsoft Azure Services, and Microsoft Azure Support Plans categories
- Payment & Fees table addition. This table is added to provide clarity to which Azure product categories are eligible for specific Payment & Fees
- Existing Service Specific clauses moved to the Service Specific Terms section on the new Microsoft Azure page
Moreover, this consolidation and layout re-order, does not mean Microsoft is not changing the use rights of the existing Terms. Neverthless, in case you see something changes significantly and affects your current terms, is necessary to utilize the “Feedback” button on the top right to correct it.
